Software Café
The Software Café is a brand-new meeting place and knowledge platform for software professionals in the high-tech and manufacturing industries. It is part of the Software Community, a collaborative initiative launched earlier this year by Mikrocentrum together with five leading high-tech companies: ASML, Canon, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Vanderlande Imdistries, and VDL ETG. The goal is to strengthen software development in hardware-driven environments.
BSBF2026 Site visit to ITER
On 18 February, BSBF2026 hosts an exclusive site visit for suppliers to the ITER facility that is being built and to get a grasp of where your company's competences can play a role, in the framework of the Big Science Business Forum 2026, to be held in Maastricht 27 - 30 October 2026, we organise a visit to the main site of ITER.
The visit will include expert briefings and guided access to the Assembly Hall and Tokamak pit. Insight into the procurement strategy of ITER will be given and how industry can engage.
Fusion Europe meets IFMIF-DONES

This event is designed to bring industry closer to one of Europe’s most strategic fusion infrastructures. The session will showcase current and future business opportunities within IFMIF-DONES, provide first-hand insights into procurement
procedures and industrial needs, and foster direct interaction between companies, and fusion stakeholders. The event aims to strengthen the industrial fusion ecosystem and attract new companies to actively engage in fusion-related projects and collaborations.
Industry meeting & INPROCAP @ ASTRON
BigScience and INPROCAP join forces in this industry meeting at ASTRON, Dwingeloo to inform companies about developments and opportunities at Big Science Organisations.
Companies are welcome to get to know the BigScience network of Industrial Liaison Officers and multiple Big Science Organisations, and are invited to connect with Big Science Organisations to discuss potential solutions to specific technical challenges. Several companies will share insights into their experiences working with Big Science Organisations, showcasing the opportunities and the challenges such projects may entail. We will end the industry meeting with networking drinks, the opportunity to further connect with the ILO’s and an optional tour of ASTRON.
IPAC26
In May, the 17th International Particle Accelerator Conference takes place in Deauville, Normandy, France. IPAC is the premier annual gathering for the global accelerator community, bringing together scientists, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world. This conference is a unique opportunity to explore the latest breakthroughs in accelerator research and development, as well as to receive updates on current and future accelerator facilities.
SPIE 2026 conference
The two-yearly SPIE Astronomical Telescopes & Instrumentation conference is the largest in its sector and focuses both on ground- and space-based telescopes. More than 2000 experts, scientists, policy makers and industry representatives from all over the world will be attending the conference. The three-day exhibition, which is part of the conference, is an excellent opportunity for the Dutch industry and research institutes involved in astronomy and space instrumentation to present themselves and establish contacts with potential partners, clients and policy makers.
SOFT
In September, the 34th Symposium on Fusion Technology takes place in Aix-en-Provence, France. SOFT 2026 will once again bring together the global fusion community scientists, engineers, industry representatives, and exhibitors to share the latest results and breakthroughs across all areas of fusion technology. The conference will include invited talks, oral and poster presentations, and a large industry and technology exhibition. It will offer a unique opportunity for teams working on fusion experiments, test facilities, component development, materials science, and high-level design studies to meet, exchange ideas, and move forward together.
