Einstein Telescope EMR Forum

This Forum was aimed at European companies, governments and knowledge institutes that want to be part of the Einstein Telescope community that will join together in the adventure to establish this observatory in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (EMR). The event was dedicated to exploring European cooperation in the fields of all the advanced technologies associated with gravitational wave detection and building of underground observatories.
We had an exciting program, with interesting keynotes on ‘the history of Big Science’, ‘mini class introducing the Einsten Telescope’, ‘the origin of time’. There was a demonstration on ET vibration damping technologies and several workshops to choose from on the topics of societal added value of an instrument like ET, fostering strategic autonomy and technological challenges to build not only the interferometer but also the huge underground infrastructure. There was ample time for matchmaking and networking to strengthen and grow the Einstein Telescope EMR ecosystem.

This one-day event was organized by the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) and The European Spallation Source (ESS), the RI hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The program included keynote talks by decision makers in Big Science, the book launch of the book "Big Science in the 21st century" and the signing of an MoU between the Danish Technological Institute and ESS. DTI, the Danish equivalent of TNO, is coordinating the Danish ILO network.
We used the opportunity of this meeting to meet and talk to many persons about the BSBF2026.
