ZIE (Zuid-Hollands Industry Event)

04-04-2024

With a booth and a presentation on the main stage we presented the Einstein Telecope and the R&D opportunities going on in 2024 to the attendees

The presentation was planned as a duo presentation, with the plans of the consortium of the selected project in the first round ET-NGF R&D call, on vibration-free cryo-cooling, and an overview of the upcoming rounds and challenges therein. The consortium of the first project is led by DEMCON Kryoz and focuses on further developing a sorption cooler for cryo-cooling into a working prototype with sufficient capacity for use in the ETpathfinder laboratory in Maastricht. A key point was the importance of working on this type of extreme challenge for the entire cryogenics community in the Netherlands and preparing for quantum computing and hydrogen economics.

At the booth, we provided more detailed information about the R&D challenges and grant opportunities surrounding the Einstein Telescope. We had good traffic at the booth throughout the day. In fact, we were very strategically located next to a coffee distribution point and right near the entrance.
