Precision Fair 2025
The Precision Fair, a yearly event organised by Mikrocentrum, attracts many (inter)national visitors from a broad range of high-precision industries. It is an excellent opportunity for the BigScience.nl Industry Liaison Officers to showcase current developments in their fields, connect with companies and organisations with whom they have longstanding relationships, and build new ones.
In this year’s edition, special attention was given to the overarching theme of Aero & Space. For example, Ramon Navarro (NOVA/ASTRON) demonstrated how Dutch optics and mechanics contribute to the world’s largest telescopes—from the James Webb Telescope to the future Habitable Worlds Observatory. The to-be-built Einstein Telescope also drew a lot of attention, especially now that the precursor instrument, ETpathfinder, is taking shape.
As part of this effort, the ILOs raised awareness and explained to companies how they can benefit from the upcoming Big Science Business Forum 2026, which will be held in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
