EU survey for industry connecting with research and technology infrastructures
The European Commission will develop a Charter of Access for industrial users to research and technology infrastructures, including for startups and scaleups - complementing the Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures.
It is developed with the following considerations in mind:
- Industry needs cutting-edge research, technology facilities, and expertise to rapidly develop, test, scale, and validate new products and services, to increase productivity, create quality jobs and attract talent and investments.
- Research and technology infrastructures benefit from interaction with industrial users to connect their services and research more directly with developments related to tangible products, processes, and technologies, in turn helping infrastructures to stay cutting-edge and develop a culture of innovation.
- It is in line with the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy that aims to make Europe the best place in the world to launch and grow global technology-driven companies, helping innovators, founders and investors to Choose Europe!
- It supports the overarching objective of the European Strategy on Research and Technology Infrastructures to ensure that scientists, researchers, innovators, inventors, and industry in Europe have at their disposal easily accessible, cutting-edge facilities, high-quality data and tailored services that drive scientific and technological excellence, industrial competitiveness and well-being of people.
- It follows the roadmap of the competitiveness compass to close the innovation gap, reduce excessive dependencies, and increasing security.
Building on the Charter, the European Innovation Act will further promote the access of innovative companies to European research and technology infrastructures through legislative measures.
By participating in this survey, you provide input and contribute to the creation of the charter that will propose principles facilitating access for the industry to research and technology infrastructures.
