De belangrijkste conclusie van deze eerste Europese vergadering van alle Big Science ILO's is dat we unaniem van mening zijn dat er een Europees ILO-Net moet komen. Denemarken en ESS nemen daarvoor het initiatief. Een volgende Europees ILO-Net vergadering zal eind 2018 worden gehouden.
Op de vooravond van de BFBS werd de eerste Europese vergadering gehouden van alle Big Science ILO's.

11th and 12th of June, NWO-I/BigScience.NL together with six other consortium partners have kicked-off a project named INPROCAP (Building Innovation Procurement Capabilities in Big Science). The other partners are DTI from Denmark, NCBJ from Poland, CDTI from Spain, EISCAT in the north of Scandinavia, EuXfel from Germany and Pedal from Slovakia.
This consortium brings together a diverse group of international partners dedicated to creating a robust framework for innovative procurement within BSOs. This initiative is critical as it addresses the growing demand for a wide range of products and services essential to advancing scientific research and infrastructure. The project is set to span the next three years, during which it aims to bolster the effectiveness and reach of procurement processes in the realm of large-scale scientific research.
The Symposium on Fusion Technology (SOFT) 2024 in Dublin highlighted the Netherlands' contributions to fusion research, with active participation from Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER), Eindhoven Institute for Renewable Energy Systems (EIRES), and industry partners. The event provided an excellent platform to showcase Dutch advancements, including the work at DIFFER on divertors and the Magnum-PSI facility.
The Big Science Business Forum 2024 edition took place in Trieste, Italy 1-4 October. Six industrial liaison officers from the BigScience.NL network travelled to Trieste with 18 companies representing the high-tech industry on the shared stand covering an area of 24 square meters in which each company had a panel showcasing their particular competences.
