Nationaal Congres Autonomous systems 2025
02-04-2025
Autonomous systems play a key role in the future of our economy and society. From the medical sector, to manufacturing, from agriculture to energy supply, distribution, mobility and the living environment - everywhere we see how autonomously operating technology tackle more complex challenges. They make our work more efficient, more sustainable and less labor-intensive. The day started with a welcome by Jacquelien Scherpen (Rector Magnificus of the RUG) and a opening lecture by Moniek Hoekstra (managing director NXTGEN Hightech). They enthusiastically set the scene for the rest of the inspiring day. In addition to the plenary program and demonstration square, there were three tracks: industry (seven organisations share their experience and innovations with autonomous systems), science (seven professors share their newest insights in sensing, robotics, and AI) and society (six organisations share their thoughts and experience on responsibility, trust and reliability of AI and autonomous systems). The day closed with a key note of Aaron Saunders CTO of Boston Dynamics (famous for their groundbreaking humanoid mobile robotics, such as the SPOT)
