Precision Fair 2023

November 15 & 16, the annual Precision Fair organized by the Mikrocentrum took place in the Brabanthallen in Den Bosch, The Netherlands. More than 350 organisations from the high precision domain were present. The majority companies active in this domain. Every year, it is an excellent opportunity to connect in person with the companies and other organisations with which the Dutch Industrial Liaison Officer have contact throughout the year, but mostly by email or phone.
As usual, on the Wednesday afternoon, the ILO-net, under the flag of BigScience.NL organised a series of presentations showcasing projects related to the theme of materials at various Big Science organisations as well as Dutch universities and institutes.

16:00-16:25 - Einstein Telescope; challenges in seismic isolation and vacuum | Mathijs Baars - Nikhef
The BigScience.NL booth with the neighbouring booth focused on the Einstein Telescope drew a lot of attention with various demonstration of vibration suppression technology for the Einstein Telescope, parts fundamental to the LOFAR radio telescope and examples of parts fundamental in controlling the high energy beam at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. Also a representative of the upcoming Big Science Business Forum 2024 scheduled for early October 2024, was present to explain companies what the benefit for them could be to attend this event especially as part of the Dutch booth hosting a number of Dutch companies.
