Big Science Industriemiddag 2013
16-10-2013

London, 14 April 2026. The financial magazine The Economist organised its second annual Fusion Fest in the City of London. 688 participants gathered in an anonymous but chic office and conference building next to the “middle-class brutalist” Barbican Estate: the biggest and arguably most controversial housing project in the city developed after the Second World War.
The industry meeting at ASTRON, Dwingeloo was another great opportunity for companies to connect with the Big Science domain. A first general presentation about the BigScience.NL network and its activities was followed by presentations by the Industrial Liaison Officers about their organizations and future opportunities for companies in Big Science organizations. This time, a unique INPROCAP session was part of the program, with presentations of specific challenges from CERN, EUXfel and ESO for which they would like input from industry. All challenges brought lively discussions and suggestions, hopefully the start of fruitful collaborations!
"BigScience.NL visited ZIE, Zuid-Hollands Industrie Event, hosted by Mikrocentrum at the Van Nellefabriek in Rotterdam on March 26th. At this yearly event, high tech and manufacturing companies, suppliers, knowledge institutes and government from the South Holland region get together. We discussed Big Science and developments in hydrogen technology, space, robotics, resilience, mechatronics and optics, AI and data and semicon. Of course, we had plenty of time to connect with the ecosystem and to invite interested parties to BSBF26. ZIE you next year, Rotterdam!"
