FME supports new Innovation fund
FME welcomes the new innovation fund for companies active in the domain of the 10 key-enabling technologies listed in the National Technoloy Strategy. The fund is aimed at those projects that have the potential to create products that will be exported. The fund should help innovative companies to cover investment risks to scale up to the point of stimulate the potential for the export.

Industriemiddag
The BigScience.NL industry afternoon at the Mikrocentrum was well attended by over 40 people. The industrial liaison officers of the various Big Science organisations to which we are connected, presented the opportunities at those organisation. Two companies shared their experience in working with these large organisations for those unfamiliar with the domain to learn from. Three companies seeking to enter the big science arena pitched their competences to the ILOs and fellow companies such that more people are aware of their competences potentially leading to new opportunities. Many new contacts were made during the networking moments the seeds for new partnerships. The BSBF2026 was promoted and the programme and opportunity to present companies' competences was well received.
7th German Fusion Forum
On a snowy Monday, people, primarily Germans, interested in the opportunities and challenges facing nuclear fusion came together in Garching, a small university town near Munich with a surprisingly bad public transport connection to Munich airport. The 190 participants would spend two days together to witness an extensive number of presentations covering the need for a new regulatory framework for fusion to the ambitious roadmaps of German fusion startups.
Deep Tech Day UvA 28 january
The UvA faculty of Science organised their first Deep Tech Day at Amsterdam Science Park. During this event, the focus was on the road from deep technological science to societal impact. The programme featured plenary sessions with keynotes and panel discussions by, among others, Tjerk Opmeer (Director of Innovation Policy, Ministry of Economic Affairs), Constantijn van Oranje (Special Envoy at TechLeap), Dr. Emilia Olsson (Faculty of Science, University of Amsterdam, and ARCNL), and Renée Frissen (AI Plan). There were several parallel sessions for example focussing on Knowledge & Technology Transfer or the Faculty of Science Startups.
EU survey for industry connecting with research and technology infrastructures
The European Commission will develop a Charter of Access for industrial users to research and technology infrastructures, including for startups and scaleups - complementing the Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures.

BigScience.NL en de Belgische technologische brancheorganisatie Agoria halen BSBF2026 naar Maastricht
België en Nederland organiseren in oktober 2026 samen het zogenoemde Europese Big Science Business Forum (BSBF) in het MECC in Maastricht. Naar verwachting 1.000+ deelnemers vanuit toonaangevende hightechbedrijven ontmoeten Europese Big Science Organizations op deze conferentie om kennis te delen over hoogwaardige technologie en innovatie.
